Prayers & Quotes for February 5, 2010

If you have a prayer request for a cherub or a family member of a cherub, you can send it to prayers@cdhsupport.org.

Please keep the following in your thoughts and prayers:

Cherub Clodagh D. is having her repair on 2/10 to fix her eventration. Clodagh woke up today under the weather, please pray she feels better soon and the surgery goes well and Clodagh is safe and recovers easily.

Cherub Juan Pablo A. is ill. His most recent x-rays show his liver is even up farther in his chest cavity. After he recovers from his infection, he will be seeing a pediatric surgeon to discuss his eventration.

Cherub Kiyari M. will be having surgery to close the hole in her heart on 2/9. This will be the 3rd attempt. Please pray that they are able to plug the hole and that she has a fast recovery.

Cherub Keith H. has reherniated 2/3 (liver, bowel, and kidney). He also has an upper respiratory infection. Surgery is set for next week. Please keep Keith in your prayers for a successful surgery and he gets over his illness.

Cherub angel Katie (Kathryn) R.'s mom AnneMarie R. is in need of prayers. She recently lost her son, newborn Joshua, to a cord accident on 1/21.

Cherub angel Jeremiah D.'s mom Sarah had a baby boy on 2/1, Isaiah. Congratulations!!

Cherub Landon is scheduled for his CDH repair today.

Cherub Ethan H. is having a rough time recovering from his reherniation surgery on 12/15. He still is in an inpatient rehab program and working on getting stronger daily.

Newborn cherub Molly G. is still in the hospital.

Newborn cherub Natalie F. arrived 12/29 and came home 1/30 and is struggling with bottle feeding and gtube feeds.

Cherub Carter A. had a GJ tube placed last week to help with feeds.

To all our families and friends that are fighting against the flu, colds, sickness…may you feel better soon and have no complications.

Cherubs on Their Way:

Cherub Ruben A, due 2/24 - a prayer request from his grandma: "Asking for prayer for peace as my daughter Tanya is 37 1/2 weeks, had their surgical meeting yesterday with the doctor - hard news with the added heart problems and all the pulmonary hypertension, were told that needs to be way under control for the CDH surgery to even be performed. The waiting and unknown is so hard. She and my son in law are trying to keep their sights set on Christ knowing that little Ruben is in His hands. The room is already for little cherub Ruben for that one day when he will come home. I have set up a prayer chain with family and friends for the first 24 hours of his life since they have said that is a very crucial time. Thank you for being here and for all the prayers. For Tanya even to see little Ruben's name on the list of cherubs is comforting. We are praying for all the families and cherubs."

Cherub Noah A., due 5/30

Cherub Ian H., due 4/26

Cherub Jayden G., due 3/18 - Please keep Jayden G.'s mom Alicia and baby Jayden in your prayers and thoughts. Alicia is fighting preterm labor and is on limited activity. Jayden is now 34 weeks old.

Cherub Jeremiah M., due 3/30

Cherub Mekhai R., due 3/17

Cherub "baby boy" K., due 4/16

All families expecting a baby with CDH, may you have continued hope and strength for the journey that lies ahead.

Newly Grieving Families:

To all families affected by CDH and the loss of your precious child, may you find peace and comfort and know you are never alone, for so many people care about you.

Today’s Quotes:

"Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe."
-Gail Devers

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." -Howard Thurman

"We're so busy watching out for what's ahead of us that we don't take time to enjoy where we are." -Calvin & Hobbes quote

"Life is so generous a giver, but we, judging its gifts by their covering, cast them away as ugly, or heavy, or hard. Remove the covering, and you will find beneath it, a living splendor, woven of love, by wisdom, with power. Welcome it, grasp it, and you touch the angel’s hand that brings it to you. Everything we call a trial, a sorrow, or a duty, believe me, that angel’s hand is there, and the wonder of an overshadowing presence. Our joys too; be not content with them as joys. They, too, conceal diviner gifts." -Fra Giovanni Giocondo

  1. Thank you for keeping all these sweet families in my mind. When we were done with all of our "life support" time, it's easy to forget that there are MANY that are still living our terrible nightmares. Our love and prayers go out to all families effected by CDH.
