MEET OUR VOLUNTEERS - Kacy Hurley

Kacy Hurley Kacy is a stay at home mom to 16 month old Cherub Mattilynn (Mattie), wife of Jeremy Hurley, and the Cherubs OK State Representative.   The Hurley’s live in Meeker, OK.   Mattilynn was born with a left sided CDH March 15, 2011 and was given only a 20% chance of survival. She was born with less than 10% of the left side of her diaphragm. Mattilynn had her repair surgery at 3 days old and was placed on ECMO at 6 days old for 4 days.  Mattilynn came home from the hospital at 3 months old with pulmonary hypertension, chronic lung disease, bronchial/tracheal malacia, and is on oxygen at night and has a gtube for help with weight gain.  Mattilynn recently recovered from a re-herniation on her first birthday and is now healthy as can be and such a joy to all who know her.  Kacy taught Severe/Profound Special Education for 5 years  before making the decision to stay at home with Mattilynn.
